Education
Junior Environmental Sciences major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Emphasis in Natural Sciences. Grade point average is currently 3.5. I attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities my freshman year where my grade point average was 3.6. I also took higher level International baccalaureate science, history and English courses in high school.
Experience
I've had some experience tutoring elementary school students in reading and writing when I was in high school. I haven't had any official experience tutoring college level students but have helped many of my peers outside of class in past semesters. I feel I am especially strong in math up until but not including the calculus level. I did not take the SAT in high school but did complete the ACT twice. I scored a 25 and 27 on my first and second attempts respectively. At the University of Minnesota I took college level algebra, introductory to chemistry as well as ecology and evolution courses. during my sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, I completed MATH 152, BIO 141 and 142, ENVSCI 200 and GEOGRPY 252 among others. I am not always the quickest learner but I have remained in good academic standing during my first two years of college. I would like to be a tutor because I enjoy helping others in subjects that I excel in such as algebra and biology. Discovering the best ways to teach content from these subjects helps me understand them more deeply. I think tutoring will help me become both a better learner and communicator.
