I am a freshman in college with the intent to major in Environmental Science and triple minor in Spanish, Music, and Natural Resource Management from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I graduated high school with a 3.96 and I intend to do the leave this institution with as high of marks as I received back then!
Experience
I have done tutoring on and off for the past four years in various forms; I have a few informal arrangements with classmates currently to help out with College Algebra. I received a composite score of 28 on the ACT. Having taken it a few times, I can help your child (and you, too!) understand what to expect for this exam and the best way to prepare. I will happily help out with writing. I worked as an editor for my school's literary anthology (a publication of student writing and works) for two years and I have a hawk's eye when it comes to grammar and potential structural issues in a paper! I am in my sixth year of Spanish currently. My expertise is grammar and sentence structure in writing in Spanish and also while speaking; if your child has the most trouble with these concepts, this is where my efforts are best applied! As I'm entering the college of Letters and Sciences, I am once again taking copious amounts of math. Since it's so fresh in my brain again, I can help out for any level of math up until Algebra II.

Hi there! I'm Maria, your local college freshman with big dreams, namely making the world a better place, keeping the water cleaner, and keeping classical music alive! I love hiking, furry animals, and movies involving either robots, aliens, or both. I love to help out! I view tutoring as being more of a helpful older friend for your child as opposed to another teacher. My job is to supplement what his or her teacher has been teaching and also to clarify anything that might have been lost in translation due to disconnect in teaching style and learning style. In this same vein, pricing is negotiable for me. My general price is $15/hr, but I would rather you pay me a little less so I can spent more time helping your child if money is an issue. Everyone deserves a strong foundation, and it's difficult to obtain that if tutorial services are too expensive when your child needs them.
